Partnership Announced
Global Playground is pleased to announce its first project, in partnership with Building Tomorrow, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to promoting infrastructure projects that benefit orphans impacted by HIV/AIDS in and around Kampala, Uganda. Building Tomorrow is largely focused on giving U.S. college and university students the opportunity to raise funds and awareness. Global Playground's partnership will allow this initiative to reach hundreds more in the professional arena.
Global Playground will be raising $32,000 in 2006-2007 to fund the construction of a new school in Wakiso District, which surrounds Kampala, Uganda. Board members Doug Bunch and Edward Branagan will join George Srour, founder of Building Tomorrow, on a trip to Kampala this fall to begin talks with local officials, discuss potential sites for the school, and meet the children and families impacted by this partnership.
