Global Playground’s mission is to raise awareness and share resources with people of the developing world to create educational opportunities where they do not exist.
This week, Global Fellow Hannah Bunting visited the GP library donated to Huay Puung Mai Elementary School in Northern Thailand. Thanks to the incredible teachers for working so hard to maintain it and circulate books! #gpforchange #lifeontheplayground https://t.co/glXg1Svq5d
Global Playground currently has two ongoing projects: a library and media center at a girls’ secondary school in Narok County, Kenya and six classrooms, a library, and two offices at Bandajuma Primary School in Bo District, Sierra Leone.
Construction on the library and media center at Siana Girls’ High School is complete and Global Playground’s community partners are working on connecting the school to the electric grid and furnishing the center. The building will open in January 2018.
The project in Bo District, Sierra Leone began in early December 2017 and is slated to open on March 1, 2018. The facilities will serve 280 students in the region and allow the Bandajuma village council to expand on their child and adult literacy programs.
